Welcome to Book More Business … the blog! This is not my first time around the block. No indeed. I created a blog several years ago. Was disappointing. Why? No one ever READ it! Bummer. Why did no one read it? Was it because it lacked content? No. Was it because it didn’t stir up reasons to comment. No way. Was it because I did absolutely nothing to promote it? WAY!
So, I admit I didn’t do enough to promote it. I thought it was so fantastic that people would just flock to it. Now I wonder, what the heck was I drinking with that as a plan?
This blog will be especially meaningful for speakers and consultants. It will also speak to people selling services. The people who will find interest in my blog are the type who have to sell in order to eat. Real producers. Especially producers of intellectual property.
My entire premise is based on monetizing intellectual property. I believe as speakers and consultants, we are in the intellectual property business. That’s why people pay for us. I believe that speakers need to take their speeches and put the information into the marketplace in a number of ways. As blogs, articles, books, audio and video products and more.
One of my favorite words is “leverage”. Those who are great at leveraging their intellectual property will do very well. Seek to create multiple streams of putting your IP into the marketplace. If you a good job at this, you will have people seeking you out.
One of the things that will make this effort at blogging more successful than my last is two words. Social and media! There were no social media when I first started my blog. Apparently, I didn’t shout loud enough from my back door to get people to visit the site. So, now for a more sophisticated effort at spreading the news!
I hope you will not only visit often but that you will want to offer your ideas, suggestions, and thoughts to my effort. I want to create a real community. So … please come often! Now I have to leave you to go to the back door and let my neighbors know I’m back in the blogging business …
